Wellsboro BookFest Preview
We’re looking forward to seeing our reading friends in Wellsboro, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 19, for the Wellsboro BookFest, sponsored by From My Shelf Books & Gifts.
We’re spending this week getting ready. We’ve packed our binoculars in anticipation of leaf-peeping season, something we’ve never tried. The Wellsboro Gazette says that the run of warm temperatures pushed the start of prime viewing out of the end of September and into October, so we’re looking forward to some fine scenery.
But we’re not forgetting that we’re going to Wellsboro for the authors, so we checked them out, too. Here’s who is showing up.
Kevin Coolidge
He’s not just the author of the Totally Ninja Racoons series for first through fourth graders, he’s the owner of From My Shelf and putting on this shindig! We met Kevin and his wife, Kasey, at the Dauphin County Public Library’s author festival in April and were intrigued by their energy and enthusiasm, and seeing a part of the state we had recently driven through several times.
Allison B Hanson
Allison’s something of a ringer on this list since Teresa knows her through the Central Pennsylvania Romance Writers group. She writes contemporary romances, including paranormal and suspense, and her latest two books are Racing Fate and Watched from a Distance.
Christy Nicholas
Nicholas writes fantasy novels under her own name and creates art under the name Green Dragon.
P.J. Piccirillo
Piccirillo has written two historical novels based in central Pennsylvania: “Indigo Scarf,”
about two slaves who escape into the North, and “Heartwood” set in the rugged timbering industry.
Samantha Lienhard
Lienhard writes in the horror / fantasy genres and also writes visual novels in the video game field.
Also appearing will be:
Ron Bonett: Mystery (“Mystery of the Windowed Closet,” “Veronica”)
Basil Bacorn: Fantasy
Nick Fidler & William Waltz: Fantasy
Lilace Guignard: Travel, women’s studies, poetry
Baiba Kreger: WWII-era memoir (“My Heritage, My Destiny”)
Dawn Lubertowicz: Paranormal romance
Jim Meade: Military memoir.
John Simcoe: Comics
Judith Sornberger: Poetry, memoir (“Finding Faith in Tuscany”)
