It used to be you’d have to visit us at our public appearances or shows, but now you can get personalized signed Peschel Press books without leaving your computer.
Two great independent bookstores in our area will accept your order by phone and ship books to you. We’ll even throw in a cloth bookmark handcrafted by Teresa!
It’ll cost you a small shipping charge if you live in the U.S. We ship books by Media Mail, which for one book sent to a U.S. address is about three bucks. Outside the U.S. it’ll cost more.
How to Order
You have two options:
To buy from the Mechanicsburg Mystery Book Shop, visit the Peschel Press Book Page (password: peschelpress). Everything is done through the website, including how you want it personalized.
To buy from Cupboard Maker Books, look at the price list on the “Ordering Trade Paperbacks Direct from Peschel Press” over at the Booksellers link (ignore the IngramSpark list, which is for booksellers). If you want to enquire by email, send it to [email protected].
Call the bookstore during business hours and place your order. We sign the books and deliver them to the store, and they ship them out.
You’ll get the books you want, and you’ll be helping an independent bookstore run by lovely people keep the lights on.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you!

Inside, you’ll find thousands of used books (with a new book section recently added) and the store’s famous cats. Cupboard Maker also has cats and kittens temporarily living with them that are available for adoption through Castaway Critters. If there’s a particular book or book recommendation, ask Michelle or any of the friendly staff members, and they’ll point you in the right direction.
Cupboard Maker also hosts book signings, several book clubs, and other events throughout the year. Keep up with them by joining the newsletter, and stop by when you’re in town. And if you’re hungry, the Squeaky Rail Diner you just passed by serves fresh, hot onion rings and a great peanut-butter pie.
